We’ve recently welcomed three new members to our Operations Team. Charlotte Mason has joined as a new Administration Assistant, with Angela Kingston-Nash and Claire Reeves coming on board as Benefits Officers.

Charlotte Mason
In her new role, Charlotte will be responsible for business administration for the charity, covering the support line calls and helping other members of the team. Charlotte’s background is in hospitality where she worked for 16 years before joining Mesothelioma UK. During this time, she was a pub manager for JD Wetherspoons, and a hotel wedding and events manager.
As a new Benefits Officer, Angela will be supporting patients in claiming for mesothelioma-related benefits and advising on civil compensation.

Angela Kingston-Nash
She brings 10 years of welfare benefits’ experience and has previously worked in research and development for KP. Angela also volunteers for Cruse Bereavement in her spare time which she believes gives her the skills to be able to work with people who are nearing the end of their life or struggling with anticipatory grief.

Claire Reeves
Similarly, Claire will be providing advice to patients living with mesothelioma in relation to their entitlements to benefits and compensation. Claire wanted to work in a role and for an organisation where she felt that she was making a difference to the people that we help and support.
Prior to working for Mesothelioma UK, Claire worked as a Legal Assistant for North West Leicestershire District Council, managing a caseload of disrepair claims on behalf of the Council. She has worked for many years in the advice sector and spent several years working for Citizens Advice as a benefits adviser and then later as a training officer, training new members of staff in relation to benefits.
