Support
groups
There are local support groups across the UK that can offer help and support locally to patients, carers and family members. Some of these groups are patient support groups, where patients and family members come together to meeting, offer support and often listen to invited speakers on topics such as diet and mesothelioma.
For younger people affected by mesothelioma and for those caring for someone with mesothelioma, there are specific groups you can attend to connect with others going through the same experience.
We are also launching a new online support group, please see the details below and contact us if you would like to join us.
There are also Asbestos Support Groups which provide a range of services, including benefits advice. Often the Asbestos Support Groups run or host the Patient Support Groups.

Mesothelioma UK Support Group for Patients
Launching in March 2025, our new online support group is an opportunity for mesothelioma patients to meet, chat and share experiences with other patients.
The group will be held at 2pm on the third Wednesday of each month via Zoom, our first group is on Wednesday 19th March. There will be one of our Mesothelioma UK nurses on the group each month.

for younger people
The Mesothelioma UK Younger Patient and Carer Support Group is designed specifically to support mesothelioma patients and carers under 55. Meetings are facilitated by Mesothelioma UK Clinical Nurse Specialist Simon Bolton and provide people with an opportunity to share experiences and ask questions. Mesothelioma UK provides a dedicated carers hour each month for people who care for someone with mesothelioma. It gives people an opportunity to connect with others going through the same experience as well as getting advice and information.
