VSF Ltd are a family run business specialising in the removal and replacement of asbestos garage roofs throughout the UK. Our team have witnessed firsthand the impact that asbestos can have on individuals through family members and our company advocates to reduce asbestos exposure and remove this in accordance with legislation, keeping our communities safe. ASESA is a not for profit trade association for those organisations involved with asbestos removal in the UK. We work to continually raise standards around the safe removal of asbestos, to raise awareness of the dangers posed by asbestos in the UK, and to encourage other industries to learn from the UK’s experience with Asbestos in relation to other potential hazards.

UK National Asbestos Register (UKNAR)

UK National Asbestos Register (UKNAR) CIC is a not-for-profit enterprise aiming to prevent accidental asbestos exposures through ensuring easy-to-read, up-to-date digital asbestos registers are available 24/7 to those who need them. Accessible via URL links or QR codes, these registers help people identify where asbestos is located so they can carry out their work safely, without unwittingly disturbing it and putting themselves or others at risk.

We support the creation of a National Asbestos Register to make this possible for all buildings in the UK.

Already, our low-cost, easy-to-use Asbestos SMART technology helps duty holders manage asbestos more effectively in thousands of UK buildings—including hundreds of schools, 75% of which still contain asbestos.

We’re proud to support Mesothelioma UK, who receive 5% of all UKNAR’s Asbestos SMART licence fees in support of their vital work.

ARCA offers an e-Learning asbestos awareness course that raises awareness of the dangers of asbestos and the practical steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of exposure that leads to Mesothelioma. The course costs £10 and includes an official certificate upon completion, with all fees donated to Mesothelioma UK to support those affected by the asbestos-related cancer.

Mick Bennett – QHSE Manager, Mitie

I have worked for Mitie for 16 years on the VodafoneThree contract as the QHSE Manager, with responsibility for managing asbestos across the estate. My journey into asbestos management began with Cable & Wireless and continued when VodafoneThree took over the contract.

To strengthen my understanding of asbestos and its management systems, I have attended many BOHS courses over the years. I became a member of both BOHS and FAAM and have regularly taken part in asbestos conferences, where I’ve connected with like-minded professionals.

As QHSE Manager, I deliver a wide range of training including Asbestos Awareness, and later qualified as a UKATA Tutor. A pivotal moment for me was meeting Mavis and Ray Nye at an asbestos conference, which deepened my passion for asbestos awareness and education. This passion eventually led to my role as a UKATA Director for Asbestos Awareness.
