Your Health Companion?
Understanding what it is really like to have mesothelioma is an integral part of our work. This enables us to focus on what matters most to people living with mesothelioma.
As part of this we regularly conduct patient experience surveys. The 2018 Mesothelioma Outcomes, Research and Experience Survey (MORE) survey being the most recent.
Results help us to develop our priorities as a charity as well as make recommendations to the wider mesothelioma community and health care providers.
Impact is wide ranging. Results have gone on to inform research on topics such as communicating a mesothelioma diagnosis sensitively, dispelling misconceptions about palliative care as well as our Armed Forces Project.
Crucially, output from projects such as these include resources and recommendations for healthcare professionals and services – directly benefiting people affected by mesothelioma. For example, this animation about palliative care.
We now need your help to bring our data up-to-date to help shape future services for people with mesothelioma.
To do this we’re collecting information via the free online diary app Your Health Companion.
Download it now or watch the video below to find out more including how it can support conversations with your healthcare team by allowing you to accurately record symptoms over time:
