Who can apply?
Awards are provided for grants to universities, medical schools and research institutes within the UK and Northern Ireland. If a contract researcher wants to apply for funding on their own merit, they will be considered if they have a proven track record and are willing to work alongside a UK or Northern Ireland university or research institute.
When can I apply?

Does the research have to focus exclusively on mesothelioma?
Yes.
What types of research does Mesothelioma UK fund?
Mesothelioma UK funds clinical, scientific and patient experience/supportive care research. The current research themes can be found here.
Will Mesothelioma UK accept applications to co-fund research?
Yes, Mesothelioma will accept applications to co-fund research.
I’ve applied before to Mesothelioma UK and been unsuccessful, should I apply again?
Yes, each grant round is assessed by the Research and Audit Scientific Committee on its own merit.
Is there any help available when writing the proposal?
Yes. Mesothelioma UK is a non-commercial partner of the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR). The NIHR has an Early Contact and Engagement service which may be able to assist you with your application.
