Members of the Mesothelioma UK Support Services Team have been working with Lung Cancer Nursing UK (LCNUK) to refresh its online mesothelioma resources for members.
These resources aim to provide the relevant, evidence-based information and support that lung cancer nurses need to care for mesothelioma patients.
Several members of the Mesothelioma UK team have recorded video presentations as part of the new education module on topics including:
- Treatment and trials
- Peritoneal mesothelioma
- Symptoms
- What is mesothelioma
- Asbestos history and mesothelioma
- Supporting the patient and their family
- Compensation & benefits and the role of the coroner

Leah Taylor, Mesothelioma UK Head of Nursing, said: “I would personally like to thank our support services team for their hard work and dedication in developing this new module for LCNUK members. Many of our nursing team are members of LCNUK and we are delighted to have contributed to this important resource.
“Finding up to date, evidence-based information can be time consuming, and we hope that this module will provide lung cancer nurses with access to all the relevant information and support they need to help care for patients with mesothelioma, including treatment options, support networks and guidance on compensation and benefits.”
Karen Clayton, Macmillan Lead Lung Cancer Nurse Clinician, Chair of Lung Cancer Nursing UK added: “It has been an absolute pleasure collaborating with Mesothelioma UK on this valuable resource for our members. We would like to thank all those who took part in developing such an interactive module which will enhance lung cancer nurses’ knowledge of mesothelioma throughout the UK.”
