Patient and Carer Day 2020
Friday 2nd October
Friday 2nd October saw us host our 15th annual Patient & Carer day. This year, due to COVID-19 we did it ‘virtually’ and were joined by almost 200 viewers.
It was a day of learning and sharing with others with similar experiences.
We’re grateful to our speakers who talked about the latest on mesothelioma clinical trials, treatments and research including Respublica’s Airtight On Asbestos project. We were also lucky enough to be joined by Paul Cook, who talked about his mesothelioma journey and his plans for his charity, Erase Meso. Our nurses enjoyed hosting ‘virtual’ lunch breakout rooms which specifically discussed carers, peritoneal mesothelioma and thoracic surgery.
The event wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our sponsors, for which we are always grateful.
The video recording of the event will be available online shortly – keep an eye out on our social media. Thank you to everyone who tuned in, it was different but hopefully just as informative.
Thank you to our Virtual Patient & Carer Day Sponsors
Our annual awards evening, which usually takes place the night before the Patient & Carer Day, has unfortunately been postponed until 2021, date to be confirmed.
