iON Consultants Raises £6,412 for Mesothelioma UK After Completing the Peak District Ultra Challenge

Supporting Safer, Healthier Communities Through Action

iON Consultants is proud to announce the successful completion of the Peak District Ultra Challenge, raising an incredible £6,412 for Mesothelioma UK. This achievement reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting those impacted by the UK’s asbestos legacy while continuing to lead the way in improving safety cultures across the UK through well-informed and responsible asbestos management.

Raising Awareness of the UK’s Asbestos Legacy

Several team members took on the challenging Peak District Ultra Challenge, collectively covering 195 km over two days. In response to the ongoing and troubling impact of asbestos exposure in the workplace, they aimed to fundraise for Mesothelioma UK while raising awareness of the need for improved behavioural competence in the industry.

Reflecting on the achievement, Cat Holmes, Principal Asbestos Consultant at iON, said:

“Every team member smashed their goal with pure grit and determination. 100 km was a very real challenge for me. Given how my body felt at the end of the first day after marching for over 10 hours at a decent pace, I doubted my ability to repeat the effort to complete the challenge. At 4:30 a.m. on the Sunday morning, I remembered we were there for Mesothelioma UK and set about getting it done! I’m so proud of Team iON. Thank you to everyone who sponsored us. Your generosity has been incredible.”
