At its 2023 annual conference in May, Lung Cancer Nursing UK welcomed Mesothelioma UK’s CEO, Liz Darlison as its third honorary member.
Lung Cancer Nursing UK had around 300 members and exists to provide a network and support to lung cancer nurses through clinical, developmental, educational, and professional support activities.
Liz was welcomed as an honorary member at the annual conference, and joins esteemed colleagues Maria Guerin, Quality Matron at Liverpool Hospitals and Professor Mick Peake, Clinical Director of the Centre for Cancer Outcomes, University College London Hospitals.
Liz said: “I’m thrilled that LCNUK have given me honorary membership – it’s such as important organisation that offers invaluable and much-needed support to specialist lung cancer nurses. I look forward to continuing to be part of it and encourage any lung cancer nurses to join and take advantage of the support membership offers.”
Lorraine Creech, Chair of the Board of Trustees at LCNUK added: “Liz has forged a remarkable career, making such an impact in the field of lung cancer and mesothelioma nursing. I can’t think of anyone who has made a greater contribution. As a champion of specialist nurses, we know that Liz appreciates how important they are to outcomes and experiences for patients and we’re delighted and thankful to have her as an honorary member of LCNUK.”
