Mesothelioma UK has appointed Guy Tewley as its new Corporate Fundraising Officer. Guy will be based at the charity’s HQ in Leicestershire and will be responsible for managing existing relationships and developing new national corporate partnerships.
Guy joins Mesothelioma UK after working in the charity sector for over six years. Guy worked in Dublin for the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) and more recently for social isolation charity, ALONE.
He was a Community Fundraiser for the RNLI where he managed fundraising branches, and organised events and campaigns.
After gaining a law degree from Huddersfield University, he realised that he wanted to make a difference to people by pursuing a career in the charity sector.
Commenting on his new role, Guy said: “I’m excited to be part of a team which is so passionate about supporting people with this type of cancer. Funding to continue the charity’s work is vital so I’m looking forward to making a difference by helping to bring in more income for the organisation.”
Head of Services for Mesothelioma UK, Liz Darlison said: “The funds raised for Mesothelioma UK support all patients and families across the UK, from diagnosis, treatment and care through a network of specialist nurses. The charity all funds audit and research and works across the NHS to develop services to improve experience and outcomes. Corporate donations play a major role in this and that’s why Guy’s appointment will help us towards achieving our goals.
“His fundraising experience is fantastic and we’re confident that this new role will help us to build our corporate donors programme significantly,” continued Liz.
