Leah is our Fundraising Assistant. She does a wonderful job, and amongst her many tasks sends out materials to help our fabulous fundraisers. Find out more about her and what she gets up to in her spare time in the latest of our operations team interviews.
“I’ve been working at Mesothelioma UK for nearly two years now. Prior to this I completed my A-Levels and got an apprenticeship at Leicester City Football Club doing sports turf maintenance, working on the stadium pitch and at the training ground.
“It’s very rewarding to know I am part of something that is making a difference to people.”
I’m often the first point of contact for our fundraisers, answering any questions they might have about our challenges or supporting them if they are looking to put on their own event. As part of this I organise and send out shop orders and fundraising materials as well as completing administrative tasks.
I love working for Mesothelioma UK as I get to see first-hand our fantastic fundraisers and the amazing things they do. It’s very rewarding to know I am part of something that is making a difference to people. The team around me who I work with on a daily basis are always there to support me and every day I feel like I am learning something new.

To support the charity, and be on the other side of fundraising, my family and I took part in the Derby Inflatable 5k run last year. We raised nearly £800.00 for Mesothelioma UK. In my spare time you’ll most probably find me at comic conventions up and down the UK, toy fairs, anything that has retro toys & games! I love collecting figures, merchandise, trading cards and anything from the 90’s and early 00’s. Aside from that, I do love football and enjoying going to watching matches, especially Newcastle United!”
