Expressions of Interest invited from Health Boards in Wales for two mesothelioma CNS posts

Mesothelioma UK, in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, is delighted to invite expressions of interest from Health Boards across Wales to host two new mesothelioma Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) posts.

Approximately 100 patients are diagnosed with mesothelioma in Wales each year and commissioned specialist mesothelioma services are currently in development, including a dedicated MDT.

Consequently, Mesothelioma UK and Macmillan Cancer Support are keen to expand the specialist nursing support available for those affected by mesothelioma.

The current mesothelioma CNS post for Wales was established in 2017 and the postholder has been instrumental in the progression and development of mesothelioma services. The additional nursing posts will work alongside the current mesothelioma CNS as a unified all-Wales team, to ensure equitable access for all patients throughout Wales and connect patients and families with Mesothelioma UK.

We invite expressions of interest from teams across Wales. Ideally, these will be in different Health Boards to increase equity of access to nurse specialists. Mesothelioma UK operates a funding fee system for the two posts that supports the development of two-day mesothelioma focused CNS posts.

To apply, please complete the Expression of Interest form and return by email to info@mesothelioma.uk.com. The deadline for applications is Friday 31st March 2023.

For further information, please to contact Leah Taylor, Head of Nursing or Sarah Morgan, Senior Mesothelioma UK CNS & Project Lead for Wales.
