Mesothelioma Matters Webinar

Since November 2020, we have been hosting monthly webinars covering a range of topics, with different experts sharing their knowledge. Subjects include mesothelioma surgery, multidisciplinary teams, chemo-immunotherapy, peritoneal mesothelioma, heterogeneity, research priorities and much more. You can see upcoming webinars below and links to our previous webinars.

Upcoming Webinars:

28 June 2021 – Research Prioritisation

Experts: Dr Claire Gardiner, Senior Research Fellow with particular interest in palliative care and Professor Angela Tod, Professor of Older People and Care.

The Mesothelioma UK Research Centre (MURC) team has recently carried out a Research Prioritisation Exercise (RPE). The aim was to identify unanswered questions about the mesothelioma patient and carer experience and then to prioritise these areas. The researchers consulted with patients, carers and professionals, to identify research areas of most importance.

This webinar presentation will include

  • an introduction into the Mesothelioma UK Research Centre
  • an overview of the Research Prioritisation Exercise (RPE)
  • a summary of insights gained from the RPE survey
  • a description of the next steps for the RPE and how the mesothelioma community can be involved.
