Meet Neil Everall, Fundraising Manager

What do you do at Meso UK?

I am the Fundraising Manger who looks after Will writing, Legacy Gifts and In Memorial and funeral giving.

How does your role support the meso community?

A mesothelioma diagnosis is devastating for patients and their families and fills their minds with so many different questions and decisions. Having a free, professionally prepared by one of our solicitors makes a huge difference to the patients and their families, giving them peace of mind and one less thing to worry about. We make the process easy and straight forward for them.

Sympathy and support with funeral donations and giving in memory helps families say goodbye to a loved one during what is a very difficult and stressful time.

Do you have many people contact you/what feedback have you gotten?

We always follow up to ensure that people have received a great service here’s what Mr B from Batley in Yorkshire had to say –

“I struggle sometimes with technology and find phone calls to be overwhelming. I wanted to get my will sorted ASAP due to my rapidly declining terminal illness, and this service couldn’t have been easier or kinder from start to finish. Getting this sorted so easily has bought me a lot of comfort during a hard time, and myself and my family are so grateful”

What is the process of getting a free will

How we make the process of writing your will in 5 easy steps.

  1. We send out the free will writing pack – You fill out the will writing form and return it to us. We provide an asset calculation form in the pack to help you identify and value your estate assets before you speak to the solicitor
  2. We process the information and allocate a solicitor to you from our panel of will writers. We send your form to the solicitor
  3. The solicitor will contact you by phone to discuss how the next stage works, collect more information, and based on your answers will start to draft your will.
  4. Once you are happy with the wording, your solicitor will write your will and send this to you

Keep the will safe and let your executors and family know where it is

What difference does leaving a legacy make to Meso UK?

Every gift, large or small, makes a lasting impact helping us support more patients and families through incredibly challenging times. Your gift helps fund our Clinical nurse specialists, allows us to provide benefits advice and legal support, provides vital information and telephone support, it also helps us to fund vital research which improves patients outcomes.

One of the most effective ways to leave a gift is to donate a percentage of your estate. This type of gift keeps its value over time. Even a gift of 1% can make a significant difference, while leaving the remaining 99% for your family and friends.

Whatever you decide, your gift will provide much needed services and support for people suffering from Mesothelioma and their families.

Anyone affected by mesothelioma can get a free will with us, and at any time of the year, not just during Free Wills Month.
