Patient and Carer Support Group
Mesothelioma UK and Asbestos Support Central England have set up a support group for people with mesothelioma and those who care for them. The sessions will provide an opportunity to meet others who understand what you are going through, and to learn more about mesothelioma and the help that is out there.
Some sessions will offer the chance to try complementary therapies, and to learn techniques to help you cope with the effects of mesothelioma.
Sessions are free of charge, and refreshments are provided.
9th October 2017 - “Mesothelioma UK and your support group”. Lorraine Creech, Mesothelioma UK.
13th November 2017 - “Clinical trials and how to access them”. Professor Gary Middleton, Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
11th December 2017 - “A spoonful of sugar– diet and mesothelioma”. Sarah Thomas, Dietician at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust. Followed by a trip to the German Market to put theory into practice!
8th January 2018 - “An introduction mindfullness”. Dr Chantelle Osborn, Counselling Psychologist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
All sessions take place at St Martins in the Bullring, just a short walk from Moor Street or New Street railway stations.
