The social group runs specifically for mesothelioma patients and their carers.  The group meets monthly at Hemingford Abbotts Village Hall, PE28 9AH.

Friday 13:00 - 15:00 hrs - Main meeting

Friday 15:00 - 16:00 hrs - Carers meeting

We have enjoyed talks from experts in breathlessness management, nutrition, keeping fit, and relaxation, and many other subjects.  We also have frequent outings (which often involve cream tea), and engage in events to raise awareness of the disease.  The group is very active and has formed its own committee who are determined to provide support for patients and carers.  We guarantee tea, coffee and a very warm welcome at every meeting.

Anglia Asbestos Disease Support Group

Launched in 2016, Anglia Asbestos Disease Support Group is for patients in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex with asbestos related diseases, and for those that care for them.

The sessions are a chance to meet others who understand what you are going through, and to learn more about your condition and the help that is out there. Through these sessions, the group hopes that attendees will feel less isolated by their illness, and by developing friendships with other patients and carers, a sense of community will be created that offers experiential advice and support.

Guest speakers will give advice on treatments, trials, diets, alternative therapies, financial compensation and various other issues patients and carers may face on their journey.

Meetings are held monthly and are free of charge to attend with refreshments provided.
