Fundraising

Fundraising is about having fun and raising money and whilst doing that being safe and within the law. Mesothelioma UK Charitable Trust do not want you to accidentally break any laws so if you decide to hold a fundraising event you must always consider health and safety and any legal requirements when doing any fundraising activity. Please contact your local authority and ask for their advice  and visit  the Health and Safety Executive  website www.hse.gov.uk who will provide advice on keeping safe and legal. Visit the Insititue of Fundraising at www.institute-of-fundraising.org.uk which features information on the best ways to fundraise.

Mesothelioma UK Charitable Trust cannot accept liability for any damage, injury or loss suffered by you or anyone else as a result of you or them taking part in a fundraising event.

A great way to raise money online is to set up a Justgiving or a Virgin Money Giving page, it's such an easy and efficient way to raise money for all your family, friends and colleagues. It only takes about five minutes to set up your page and you can add photo's and a write up about the reasons why you want to support us, then just e-mail it around and off you go. See below for the links.

Remember to carry your sponsor forms everywhere you go, you never know who you are going to meet who would be happy to sponsor you! Approach all the networks you are involved in such as your place of work, sports/gym club, football/rugby/golf clubs, school, church and your local community groups!
Every little helps and without your help we could not survive..

When raising money for a charity event, always try to be honest with your sponsors about the reasons why you want to raise money for the Mesothelioma UK Charitable Trust. Give them some background information, tell them about the charity and it's services and why it is important to you, being more personalised may make them more likely to sponsor you.

Mesothelioma UK Charitable Trust would like to thank you all for your continued support and we wish all our fund raisers 'Good Luck' in their chosen event.

If you would like to discuss fundraising for Mesothelioma UK Charitable Trust please contact Jill Lemon, Fundraising Manager on Freephone 0800 169 2409.
