We would like to congratulate Mr and Mrs Elizabeth Collins on their wedding and thank those guests very much who kindly donated £440.00 in memory of Elizabeths Brother-In-Law, Mr Andrew Cheesman who died last year of mesothelioma.
Our thanks go to Rita Polly and her husband Frank as they celebrated Franks 80th Birthday and raised a wonderful £150.00 in lieu of presents.
We would like to congratulate Mr and Mrs Henderson on their wedding which took place on the 1st July 2011, and would like to thank them both for kindly supporting the Mesothelioma Charitable Trust with doantions form their guests of £105.00.
Nicola Green got together with her family and friends to put on a 'Surpirse Party' for her lovely Dad, John Burt to celebrate his 68th Birthday on the 17th July 2011. The night raised a huge £6,390.00 and we would like to thank Nicola and her family and all those who attended for their kind generosity and support.
Mr S C Anderson has donated £200.00 as a donation in celebration of his survivng five years with mesothelioma. This is wonderful news and such a pleasure to hear Mr Anderson is doing so well and we are delighted to be able to thank him for this very generous donation and for his support.
1st July 2011 - Miss Laura Marren, celebrates her wedding day today and in tribute and memory to her lovely father Brian who sadly passed away on the 31st May 2011 peacfully in his sleep, kindly donated £150.00 in lieu of her wedding favours. We would like to send our congratulations and best wishes and wish the happy couple a wonderful life together.

Gillian Carleton and Tim Law married in September 2010 and celebrated their wedding in memory of Gillians beloved brother Darryl who passed away from peritoneal mesothelioma on the 22nd May 2006 at the tender age of 24. Gillian and Tim as a wonderful tribute to Darryl gave the mesothelioma helmet pins as their wedding favours to all of their guests. They made a kind donation of £250.00. Mr Darren Thomas raised £605.00 by running in the BUPA's 31st Great North Run last September in memory of Mr Colin Fearon who was his mum, Edith Thomas's partner. He took part in the run alongside his sister Michelle and Colin's son Grant Fearon. Shevaun Joy and Sally-Ann Green got together and with their wonderful talent and hard work put on the Blue Ribbon Ball and raised a phenomenal £2,846.25 in a wonderful tribute to the memory of their Dad and Granddad Mr Billy, William Greene. Peter, Jane & Lyn Budd raised £175.00 from their stall held at the local school's Christmas Fayre. They sold knitted toys, tree decorations, crayons infelt cases and Christmas Stockings. The family say that doing things like this hlep them to get through the dark days without their mum who sadly died of mesothelioma and they know the money they raise goes to help others in the same situation they found them selves. Suzie Coull held an 'Open House' for family and friends in an effort to raise awareness locally which in this case is in Hampshire. Sadly Suzie's mother was diagnosed with mesothelioma which was a devastating shock for the family and an illness they knew nothing about and the internet became their greatest source of valuable information hence why Suzie wanted to raise awareness about the disease and about the Charitable Trust and the work we do.On November 1st and with the very kind help of her very talented friends they put together a few stalls for the event. Jane Cabrelli helped by kindly seving tea and coffee with biscuits and cake during the morning and then preceded serving wine throughout the evening... The wonderful store holders were Dawn Williamson with 'Dawn's Cupboard' selling cakes, jams and gifts; Deborah Compton with 'Pheonix Cards'; Marietta Rhodes, our much relied upon Nail Technician, demonstrating Bio Scultpture Gel; the amazing Tracey Mitchell, multi tasking with Ladies and Childrens fashion from 'Captain Tortue', 'Original Sister' and also 'Nirvana Spa' products; and then there was Suzie with her beautiful handbags, scarves and jewellery. All the ladies who attended the event enjoyed and had a wonderful day chatting and purchasing gifts for Christmas and through there wonderful efforts they raised £156.52. Suzie would like to say "a BIG 'thank you' to all of those who gave their time on the day to support such a very worthy cause and also to the charity, without you; the help, support and information simply wouldn't be there". John and Elsie Burt along with their daughters, Nicola, Tina and Sharon have raised £1,500. They have held various events in support of the Charitable Trust this year and up to date have raised nearly £9,000.00. The families latest venture was a Raffle to win a Smart Car. John picked out the winning number, 712 on a white ticket which was adjucated by their local district councillor Mr Chris Whitehead. The lucky winners of the Smart Car where former neighbours of Elsie and John from Waltham. The whole family have pulled together and worked so very hard in support of the charity despite all the turmoil of John being diagnosed with Mesothelioma earlier this year. We would like to thank John, Elsie, Nicola, Tina, Sharon and all their families and friends for working so tirelessly and selflessly.
Mrs J Irvin kindly sent a donation of £570.00 she sadly lost her husband to mesothelioma in July this year and in his memory five men took part and completed a Fun Run on Sunday 2nd October to raise funds for the Charitable Trust - 'The Cumbria Run' which took place in Bitts Park was very successful and is a wonderful family day out. Louise Phillips took part in the Grand Union Canal Half Marathon on Sunday 13th November 2011 in memory of her lovely Dad Brian Steer. This was Louise's first half marathon which took her just 2 hours and 2 minutes to complete the 13.1 miles journey and she raised a wonderful £536.25 with the love and support of her family and friends. Kay Millichip and Christopher Parry got married on the 21st April 2011 and decided to ask their family and friends to donate to the Charity in lieu of wedding presents in memory of Kay's lovely Father, Brian William Millichip.

Brian died of mesothelioma aged 71 years old and was a much loved Father, Grandfather and Husband and is sadly missed everyday by his family and friends.
The Calendar Girls 2012 are a group of women who got together in honour of Simon Wren, who sadly at the age of 48 died on 10th March 2011 from mesothelioma.
In honour of his memory Kelvin, Simon's brother decided with his wife Linda that they wanted to do something in Simons memory and so together with their friends the Calendar Girls idea was born. They decided to set up a website and find sponsors to help them with this amazing calendar to raise awareness about the dangers of asbestos and funds for the Charitable Trust. To this date they have raised a phenomenal £3,920.00 including monies raised on the Charity Night on the 19th November 2011. Karen, Helen and the family Stevenson got in touch with us because their Mother Lorene had recently been diagnosed with Mesothelioma and they wanted to do a challenge in July to support the national 'Action Mesothelioma Day' where they could help to raise awareness about asbestos and mesothelioma and in turn raise funds for the Charitable Trust. So they decided thier challenge would be an 8 mile walk and asked for a few T-shirts and leaflets to help them in their task. Gradually the number of walkers just grew and grew and between them they have raised £1,618.28. This is absolutley astounding and what a wonderful achievement. We would like to thank all of those who took part, supported, helped them on their way or just acknowledged the good work they were doing by raising awareness.
